Yin vs. Restorative The Ultimate Zen Faceoff YTT Workshop November 2, 2024 1pm-6pm
Can Yin be Restorative? Is Restorative also Yin? What in the heck is Yang?
In this training we will dive into the differences and similarities of these two practices, learn about the connective tissue of the body, how to teach with a Functional Anatomy mindset and how these practices support a healthy nervous system. There will be learning and discussion and lots of practice time mixed in.
The class will conclude with a full 90 minute session showing Yin vs Restorative ideas for several popular poses in both styles of Yoga.
This class is for teachers and students curious about learning more about these two styles of Yoga.
As a teacher, you will: *Gain skills to practice both forms of Yoga and learn helpful hints on prop usage and modifications to make your class accessible to all *Be able to add poses into a Yang style class or teach a full class of one or both styles *Earn 5 Yoga Alliance CEU’s *Receive a detailed guidebook to support and continue your teaching journey
Lead by: Liz Baldridge RYT E500, YACEP
Liz has been practicing Yoga on and off for over thirty years. Her first experience with Yoga was back in the '80s using an awkward Raquel Welch VHS tape. Since then, feeling drawn by it’s magic, she has found herself always circling back to Yoga. After discovering Yin Yoga at a transformational Yoga festival, she decided she wanted to teach.
Liz completed her Yin Yoga certification program through You Do Yoga in Cincinnati in the fall of 2015 and Graduated from Yoga on High 200hr YTT program in December of 2016. In 2018, she completed her 300hr YTT with Yoga on High with a focus on Therapeutic Yoga. She also holds certifications in eMBER (100 hr Trauma Informed), Pranayama, Restorative, Reiki Level 1 and iRest modalities. In 2022 she became a registered "teacher of teachers" with Yoga Alliance, earning her YACEP and is also an e-500hr RYT. In the late spring of 2024, she added an additional 100 hours of Yin Yoga training to her toolbox.
Liz was born and raised in Newark, Ohio. She currently lives in Westerville, Oh with her hunky firefighter husband Eric. She’s worked for a local retailer for over 30 years and continues to grow as an HR Professional there. Liz loves to read, is a foodie, a traveler and loves long walks on the beach and pigeon pose.
Liz joined us this year at the Yoga Farm Fest for the first time, too!
