Intro to Flex Series Sundays January 15, 22, 29, February 5 11:30 am - 12:45 pm
If you’ve ever been curious, intimidated, intrigued, confused, or excited about the classes we offer at Flex Yoga Wooster, this is the series for you. A twist on our former “Intro to Yoga” series, the “Welcome to Flex” series will introduce you to every type of class that we offer: Yoga, Fitness, and Aerial. In this series, you will not only learn the answers to the questions we ALL wondered before walking in the doors, (Where do I put my shoes? What if I need to use the restroom during class? How do I book? Where are you located? Where do I park? What if I'm late?!) you will also be able to build community within the cohort group through 4 weekly sessions. It’s so much easier to start out together!
This series will be led by Dee Black, Danielle Starlin, and Elissa Myers. This series is designed for those who have never been to Flex before, those who have been gone for a while and want to return, and those who already attend but may be nervous to try a different class type.
The schedule is:
Week 1: Introduction to Flex Yoga (January 15) The first session will be led by Dee Black and will focus on all of the logistical questions that we have before entering a new space. We will go over the space & rooms at Flex, our booking system, our full pricing plan, class schedule & descriptions, and more. At the end of this session, you will begin to learn the basic Yoga poses that we teach at Flex.
Week 2: Introduction to Yoga Classes (January 22) The second session will be led by Dee Black and will continue to build on the Yoga poses taught in session 1. By the end of this session, you will move through a mini Yoga flow that will help you find the confidence to join many of our Yoga classes at Flex.
Week 3: Introduction to Fitness Classes (January 29) This session will be led by Danielle Starlin. You will be introduced to our Fitness classes at Flex including: Barre (and Hot Power Barre), Strength Training, Inferno Hot Pilates, Zumba, and Yoga Sculpt. You will learn about the props that we have in the studio, how to know which weights to choose, and you will go through a few mini sequences.
Week 4: Introduction to Aerial Hammock Yoga (February 5) This session will be led by Elissa Myers. You will be introduced to the Aerial Hammocks and our classes at Flex Yoga Wooster. Our Aerial Hammock rigging system was installed by an engineer and all of our equipment is graded for 2,000 pounds or higher. The first step in enjoying Aerial at Flex is to feel safe in the hammock and that’s what we will focus on during this session. We will go over the Aerial schedule and what to expect in each class.
